Submission One

i watched the world burn,

fire and i in a dance for two,

tip-toeing around each other.

fire licked my heels,

the ash choked me,

my heart heavy with heat.

trees taller than the world tumbling

as fire strangled them,

pulled them down.

sunlight burning and dying.

the wildfire running

rampant,

uncontrollable,

burning everything in its path
